Night Time Events Photography/Evaluation

For my photography project i decided to do Night time events, being in the festive period there was many events across London that would allow me to capture the scenery. I chose to do mine on winter wonderland as it is one of the most popular attractions in London at winter time, with thousands of people and a variety of things to do from rides to food stalls and amusements it was the place to be. I was able to capture some of the things that caught my eye and later slightly edit them to make the picture brighter and exciting. I would like these photographs to be used in London newspapers, magazines such at timeout and TNT also travel blogs. These will help highlight the events and show the audience what they could expect to see, by advertising them on not just articles but the internet it allows them to be recognised more quickly and on social sites to be shared around to world too. It gives an insight of London and gives the audience expectations by wanting to go for themselves to judge how good it is.

As i was able to take pictures of what interested me i had the opportunity to go out and find a place i thought appealed to me, which made me feel more comfortable and know what exactly i wanted to capture a moment off. The advantanges of this were i could look around and enjoy myself while still sticking to what i needed to do, im quite happy with the way some of these pictures have turnt out so am pleased with the outcome of this experience, I think they show a lot of detail and are clear to the audience what they would expect to see if they was to visit themselves. By using the effects it let me play around a bit with the keys to know what looks best and to make the picture more eye-catching.

The disadvantages of this photography was as this is an event that looks better in the night time the flash may not work as well or have a couple of difficulties to get the right light balance and as for the weather its quite cold. I think i could of improved by showing more shot angles such as close ups of food for example, this would of defined the detail and not just mid shots of the object i was trying to capture. It would of gave a wider range of pictures in which would of showed different sizes and perspectives to give the audience more of the feel of the texture and a feel of what it would be like.
