Insert/Show Evaluation

As part of the TST show for our college, with my group we filmed an insert we can then add into the live show. We chose to do it about university as its around a time a lot of students are interested and may be confused on where to go and need more information, as the show has to not only entertain and educate we thought we could choose a topic "Is uni essential?" that can inform. We went out to interview different people (staff and students) and the presenter would ask them whether they went to university or are planning on going with other uni related questions, by receiving mixed responses it showed that although going university helps your career but its only beneficial for those who would like to have big professions such as doctors, lawyers etc. The more results we received the more we could organise the results and have a conclusion.

As there have been a majority of people who went university to do a course they wanted to pursue in but after 1 or 2 years have failed because they would get distracted or come out with their degree and still are finding it hard to get a job, so its very competitive and you have to make sure you are committed  We have gathered all this information to tell students and help them with financing so they can make up their minds easier as no one wants to pay £9000 and then have no job come out of it. Although this will put students off going there are student loans and grants that will help and its a experience which you can only benefit from. If we provide students with a variety of facts and opinions from different people it makes it more realistic and interesting, this fits in with the show well and adds a topic which is away from gossip and the entertainment subject.

TST Role Evaluation
My role in this task was the make-up artist/an extra as being a zombie. This involved in touching up make up before going on set and also being one of the extras on the live show by being at the back as a zombie to make the set look more realistic for the Halloween theme. This helped me get into more of my creative side and do something different, seeing how it is to take on a different role it increases your experience and helps you learn and realise if its the role that suits you.
Apart from the Halloween make up, other make up touches i would do to help, this would also change the way a character may look on camera and improve the quality of the film. What i liked most was being able to improvise on stage to help the set while filming when acting and being creative, also involving myself into the occasion it allowed me to dress up and play my role.
What i disliked or would change for next time would be to take on a more challenging role in which my strengths and weaknesses could be tested as this would also allow me to figure out what i'm best at, this would also show what i can do and have a more important role.
