Video Installation Evaluation

The task was to create a video installation, by using previous methods of shooting, basing mine on painting being splattered on the wall as the effect i could edit this in many ways.

The video went well as it featured different colours which contrasted well, using bring colours to make it stand out more. The different transitions and movements used focused on different parts of the paint, such as zooming in on the part where it looked like it was dripping and the different blurred and grid techniques. The music went quite well as the paint seems to be splattered at the right times of the song, it doesn't have anyone singing so a backing track went quite well to focus more on the art. I think it was a good idea to try only get the wall and the paint in the video as it seemed more realistic and creative to know the audience is only looking at the picture and not the person or a hand that's creating it which will make it seem less interesting.

On the other hand there were still parts that didn't go as well as they should have, such as the short clip at the end which was hand prints on paper, using the emboss effect it wasn't a good way of showing the audience what it was about and it might be confusing and pointless as it doesn't really link to the main idea. Also it could of been extended and more creative, a variety of different camera and shot angles, as well as using bit more of different colours to make it more vibrant. These are the things i would change for next time.
