For our ident we chose to do a flicking book in which the pages turn over and you can see an insight of the college with a little description and image, we also had a morph guiding the audience through the book.
I think our ident showed a clear view and gave the audience an understanding on what college you would be attending aswell as giving them brief points, it was readable and fit the 30 seconds limit. I think the colours we used were bright(red, blue, purple, orange) and related to the style of the college aswell as their house style of the logo aswell as other visual aspects of the college itself, also using bright colours for the writing and making the font and words big enough to see. We made sure the speed of the ident went with the music so your able to see what was been shown and what was written. I think the morph brought a different aspect to the ident by making it more different and creative, to know there was a little person guiding you and it added more of a effect which made it more beliavable and interesting as hes flicking the pages you think its more real.
On the other hand, although our ident was successful in many ways it could be improved. Such as the music, as it was a well known classic song it may not fit in well with the ident itself in which a more upbeat and happier song could of been added to make people want to jump up and be more glued to it when they're watching. I also think at certain points of the ident it seemed unrealistic with the way the book was layed out or things getting in the way which didnt make it seem that fairytale book, this also including the transitions used, although they helped the ident seem more realistic it wasnt dramatic enough, it could of been edited clearer to make the transitions smooth and fit in and run with the ident the way it was planned eg. one of the fading in transitions was meant to be all white so it seems as everything else has disappeared and faded into a new white page but instead fades out to black. I think if we all spent more time together to it organise and plan it properly we could of have time to add more effects or to the content which could of make it more interesting.
Overall i think using techniques such as cut out animation and stop motion while including a morph is a easy way of making anything visual, its quick and if planned out properly with the right equipment it can be a success and can engage the audience to carry on watching it knowing exactly whats going on. I think stop motion would be the easiest way to show a full captured moment as it still makes it look realistic and can tell a story, but claymation and cut out animation are good ways of showing a sequence thats creative and animated, aslong as the images used are related to the content of the story and shot the right frames it would run smoothly and can make the audience interested to know they'll be watching something that makes sense, is unique and has humour or the entertainment factor. I've been able to finish all the animations and enjoy them all, making me gain knowledge in the different techniques used to create shows, clips and those done by hand to know theres other ways to be more creative in how you film things and what effect it can bring.
